Velia is a former corporate professional turned passionate travel agency owner, writer, and family adventurer. After 10 years in engineering sales and 7 years in the travel industry, she launched Modern Family Travel® in August 2021, driven by her motto: "Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire."

Velia is a proud mom to two amazing kids: Emma, a dancing queen who loves Taylor Swift, and Carter, a parkour enthusiast with a penchant for cut-off sleeves. She's married to Nate, a fitness industry professional who thrives on boating and spending time on the water. Together, they embody a spirit of adventure and connection.

As the 2024 ASTA Travel Advisor of the Year, Velia has earned recognition for her expertise and dedication to her craft. She has been hand-selected to attend leading industry events, including GTM, the Kindness Conference by ALG Vacations, and the Travel Weekly and Star Awards. Velia has also been interviewed and quoted in outlets such as Fox 29 News, Travel Weekly, and ASTA, further solidifying her role as a trusted voice in travel.

Through Modern Family Travel®, Velia has built a team of expert agents specializing in destinations worldwide. She embraces diversity, leading her business with kindness, compassion, and empowerment. Velia also loves sharing travel inspirations, practical tips, and personal stories, as well as insights into entrepreneurship and compassionate leadership.
